GLP Jinan Licheng’s Integrated Cold Chain Capabilities Support Growing Fresh Grocery Demand in China
Singapore and Shanghai, 19 May 2026 - GLP’s Jinan Licheng Logistics Center (“GLP Jinan Licheng”) has commenced operations for a new regional fresh grocery distribution centre serving a leading international supermarket chain, with cold chain operations delivered by Global Freezer Services (“GFS”), GLP's integrated cold chain services platform. The project demonstrates how GLP combines high-quality logistics infrastructure with in-house cold chain capabilities to support fresh food and grocery retailers, reinforcing long-term demand across its logistics parks.

With fresh food and groceries becoming one of the fast-growing demand segments in China, retailers are adopting omnichannel strategies that integrate offline stores, e-commerce and rapid fulfilment. This omnichannel model places higher requirements on supply chains for temperature control, speed and consistency, making cold chain capability an increasingly important factor for retailers when selecting logistics partners.
Within GLP’s integrated ecosystem, GFS supports customer acquisition through its cold chain operations and services, while GLP’s logistics parks provide the high-quality infrastructure required to support multi-temperature and ambient storage. Through close collaboration, the team incorporated customer requirements around temperature control, systems integration and sustainability into asset design and day-to-day operations. This integrated ecosystem strengthens GLP’s ability to attract and retain industry leading customers.

GFS is among China’s largest integrated cold chain logistics operators, managing over 5 million cubic metres of cold storage and a network of more than 1,000 owned and partner-operated refrigerated trucks, providing nationwide coverage and scalable operating capabilities.
Located in East China, Jinan is a strategic gateway linking the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region with central China. GLP Jinan Licheng features a single-storey, through-flow warehouse design with direct access to major expressways and the airport, making it well suited for regional fresh grocery distribution.
